The
water was excellent today, it was fast, furious & fun! Yes we did
have a couple of scouts maybe it was 3 or 4 that unexpectedly
"left" the raft but they weren't out for long.
We
did make a stop and let anyone that wanted to jump or somersault from a rock
into the river.
We
had a great riverside lunch of grilled burgers or chicken breasts, pasta
salads, fresh fruit & dessert.
We
weren't able to surf as the water was too high. (surfing in the raft - if
you aren't sure what it is then google it.
We
have some great pictures of our rafting trip and we will try to get them to
Mark Ewing so he can post them. We had two scouts with helmet cams and I am
sure they have some great footage. At one point we were swimming in the water
in class 2 rapids and it will be interesting to see the footage from the
helmet cams.
Tonight
at our campfire we had a daily update of activities, a religious observance and
probably the highlight of the campfire was Kaitie Sargent & Wren Stiner
being presented with Venturing Scout Bronze medals by campfire. Kaitie for
sports & Wren for outdoor. After the campfire they both had boards of
review for the Venturing Gold award which they passed. They will be presented
their Gold awards at a court of honor to be held in Washington D.C.
After
the Gold award is the Venturing Silver award which is equal to Eagle Scout.
Tomorrow
morning we will be leaving Ace to head for the National Jamboree.
We
appreciate all of the support from everyone.
Thanks
